Leadership for Emergence

Leadership today requires we cultivate a keen ability to re-perceive the reality of our complex environment and develop the creative capacity for imaginative foresight.  The visionary is someone with the ‘feeling for’ and a ‘predictor of’ the change of age we have now entered.   A true leader is someone who is able to see subtle complexity at the origin of our challenges and who is then able to walk with others through a transformative landscape, in an authentic learning journey—one of dark valleys and breathless peaks and not a guided tour of the flatlands.

For quantum physicist David Bohm, feelings and thoughts are twins in shaping our perception of reality.  They continually affect and reinforce each other, provoking old reflexes that hold us prisoners, hindering our authentic learning capacity.  Real breakthrough requires altering the inertia of reflexes and opening a new interior space for flashes of awareness and new understanding to emerge.  The awakening to a new reality is grounded in ‘primary knowing’—a creative act of actually connecting to the whole field, that is source.  Empowered with this new embodied knowledge we can relate our internal experience to the important external issues of ecology, sustainability, wholeness and balance and increase our adaptive capacity and all round resilience.

What better way than through contact with nature, expression through the arts, and authentic dialogue to help us slow down, awaken our senses and allow the creative unconscious and imagination to flow?

UK artist, facilitator and coach Andrew James Campbell and I have joined forces to offer this deeply experiential course.   Central to our living design is the belief, based on our experience, that the inner state when dynamically balanced with Nature is key to any transformative journey and that all change process must be grounded in our own authenticity.  One important goal we set is to create an environment that facilitates spontaneous insights and authentic learning—learning that integrates explicit knowledge (knowledge in the mind), tacit knowledge (experience) and transcendental knowledge (wisdom).

We aim to facilitate participants’ reconnection to the meaning and purpose of their lives.  Our goal is that you emerge with a clearer sense of understanding and purpose, at the level that matters, actionable wisdom, so that you are better able to guide the evolution of your business and create a more desirable and sustainable future.
